<body-html>
James first experienced indoor rock climbing early 1995 when he joined a kids club at the local climbing gym. Addicted from the start it is no surprise he now manages his family’s new climbing gym Bayside Rock in Melbourne.

Originally a gym climber he turned to trad, sport climbing, and now James is a boulderer, (who intends to climb some routes in the not too distant future). Competing A LOT in his teens James has been National champion for both Junior and Open on many occasions and even had the opportunity of competing for Australia at 5 international events. Over the past few years, James’ involvement with competitions has been from another angle, sponsoring comps with his Climbing Hold Company Infinite Holds, organising bouldering comps and setting for both local bouldering comps and also National and Oceania Lead.

Not all of James’ climbing happens indoors! Being a fan of the Grampians he has ticked the majority of hard boulder problems and hopes to tick off the remaining projects in the not too distant future. Getting the first Australian accent of the mega classics, Cave Rave V13 and Eve Rave V14 (Hollow Mountain Cave) at the age of 18. James has also ticked off another 10 problems v13 or above.

Now having the ultimate training venue (Baysiderock) James intends on getting super strong and finding out just how hard he can climb and boulder, not only in Australia but is planning to head overseas in the coming years.

James on Mana, V13, Project Wall, Grampians
